Sony Xperia C4 Review
The Sony Xperia C4 is the latest phone of the company’s lineup launched in mid-2015. This Sony Xperia is an improved version of its predecessor, the Sony Xperia C3, which had hit the market in mid-2014. Just like the Xperia C3, it is designed to be a ‘selfie phone’ but the good news is that it doesn’t just stop there. It comes with additional features that make it stand out from the rest of Sony’s lineup.
The first and most obvious feature of this amazing phone is the 5.5 inch screen that rests on its 147g, 7.9 mm thick body. This 150 mm by 77 mm display now sets the phone high up the ranks of the phablet world and the 1080 X 1920 pixel, full HD screen is nothing short of the excellence that we have come to associate the company with. This high resolution screen coupled with the phone’s 71.7% screen to body ratio gives the phone an easy on the eye, sleek exterior.
Like I had mentioned earlier, this Sony Xperia C4 is designed for self-portrait lovers and is set to take the whole selfie experience a notch higher. It features a 13 mega pixel main camera and a 5 mega pixel front camera. While the 5MP front camera may not be as impressive, the LED flash next to it that functions to provide lighting for your self-portrait is by all standards a distinguishing feature of the Xperia C4. So, if you frequent dingy restaurants and bars, worry not.
With this phone you can take selfies at all places, well lit or not. In addition, the 25 mm camera lens has a wider angle which greatly increases the scene the camera can capture in one shot. This means you and your friends do not have to squeeze to fit in the photo. The camera is also fitted with a HDR mode function and has a relatively wider range of scene modes as well as an improved auto mode capable of selecting the best and most optimal setting for self-portraits taken in low-light environments.
But there is more to this phone than its sleek exterior and selfie capabilities. This Xperia C4 phone features a 2GB RAM and a 16 GB internal memory that is expandable thanks to the micro SD slot in the phone. This is twice what the C3 has. It has a Mediatek MT6752 microchip set and a super powerful microprocessor; Octa-Core 1.7 GHz. It also has 4G LTE connectivity and runs on the latest mobile operating system from Google; Android Lollipop. These make the Sony Xperia C4 an excellent choice for someone looking for a fast and functional phone, capable of running multiple applications without hanging and able to retain battery life long enough.
It comes in three colors; mint green, and the usual black or white.
